Job Duties and Responsibilities : • Review and handle pre-authorization and referral requests for medical appropriateness by using established clinical protocols to determine the medical necessity of the request. • Handle medical queries received from members and client companies • Provide medical opinion to other departments • Medical advice concerning big complicated cases. • Responsible for quality of customer service provided to insured members and internal and external partners, as per contract provisions. • Foster an ongoing relationship with the world wide medical team; seeks input, opinion or advise from theses resources as appropriate. Job Requirements and Qualifications : • MBBs degree • Previous experience with insurance companies is desired. • Working knowledge of MS Office • Ability to work well with all levels of management and staff while maintaining a professional and diplomatic demeanor • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to prioritize and integrate a proactive approach to assignments • Ability to request assistance as needed • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and adjust to new systems • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills • Effective organizational and time management skills • Proficiency in written and verbal English required, bilingual English/French.
