DubaiChief Financial Officer Overview: Our client is an expanding Fintech company that operates within the insurance and banking sectors. Established less than four years ago they now require an entrepreneurial Chief Financial Officer to come on board and implement the finance and accounting elements of the business. The Role: This position will establish the Finance, Accounting departments, to ensure they are developing a scalable approach to long-term planning. The CFO is required to be an entrepreneurial leader and a mentor, they will be an important driver in bringing people together as they scale and grow both in terms of platforms offerings and Geographically. Key Areas of responsibility: Financial Control: Responsibility to ensure that appropriate systems and processes are in place. This includes but is not limited to: Group Reporting Treasury & Cash Management Debt Facilities Risk Management and Audits Tax Compliance Contract Management Corporate Finance: Including foreign exchange management and optimizing the balance sheet structure. Financial Strategy: Including budgeting, forecasting, contributing to the overall strategy and investment prioritization. Risk Management: Organizational risk framework, both strategic and financial. Information Technology: Selection and implementation of enterprise ERP/Accounting system. Key Responsibilities: Partner with the key Executives on financing strategy, board communications, company culture and corporate development, utilizing your existing relationships and building new ones across the finance community Direct the company's strategic planning initiatives and help to build out strong practices around FP&A. Partner with all members of the senior management team and other company leadership on business strategy Build and mentor Finance and Accounting team and support scaling. Demonstrate strong financial stewardship. Direct resource allocation, monitor company expenditures and help review and negotiate customer and vendor agreements Oversee internal and external Financial Reporting. Set Accounting policy and ensure financials are in accordance with accounting standards. Implement processes, frameworks and systems that allow capture and utilize timely and accurate data across the business to make better decisions Provide support on various operational tasks including P&L and financial projections, pricing and valuation models and company presentations Qualifications/Background: 10+ years of finance experience in a leadership position Previous experience in a startup or Fintech business Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for building Excellent verbal and written communications skills Understanding and experience of operating a business in the GCC Desire to work in a dynamic start-up, and be effective in resolving ambiguities High intellectual capacity, particularly in an analytical and strategic context A leader that will own the full spectrum of finance responsibilities Constantly question the status quo and believe there is a way continuously improve Prior experience leading fundraising diligence efforts, ideally at a growth stage company Strong technical analytical skills A capable leader that will be a strong partner to the executive team and an excellent mentor and coach to a growing Accounting and Finance team CPA & MBA a plus Relationships Internal Board of Directors Chief Executive Officer Chief Strategy Officer Human Resources Manager External Bankers External Auditors
