Application Support Engineer

Job Description:

DubaiThe position is for an Application Support Engineer to be working from user location on shifts (2 days and 2 nights, 12-hour shifts followed by 4 days off). The role will be a combination of activities involving application support, system monitoring, incident management, customer support & vendor management. You will be required to investigate reported faults in operational production system, restore the services to normalcy. Also, communicate and coordinate with appropriate team for resolution including changes & fixes. Skills Needed: Hands-on experience for the Operation & Maintenance Avaya Systems Splunk Service Now Ansible Automic Oracle – PL/SQL Linux/Unix commands Informatica ETL TIBCO Administrator Weblogic, JBOSS basics SQL Server Sharepoint & O365 Administration .Net / Java Knowledge and experience with Avaya Media Server Platforms including Multi-Carrier Cabinets G-Series Gateways, LSP and ESS systems. Responsibilities: To identify recurring problem areas, articulating trends for root cause analysis and providing information to problem management. Work with different technical teams, applications teams and Customer support teams and dissipate the solutions required for all incident management and service request for all assigned business areas i.e. Airport, Cargo, Engineering, Galileo etc. Liaise with vendors, IT coordinators and other IT teams to ensure a high level of system availability. To work towards resolution of incidents across various technologies & platforms. Ensure escalation and other sectional procedures are maintained, proactively informing management of process or procedural improvements. To proactively identify & highlight issues, to reduce the possibility of system downtime for users.
