What would be the main job responsibilities? Write, edit, and coordinate architectural specifications and related documents including master specifications. Prepare outline specifications for design development phase; assemble project manuals for the construction documents phase; and prepare addenda during the bidding phase. Be able to coordinate, oversee, and review specification writing by other consultants. Participate in project design development, providing knowledge about sustainable product and material possibilities. Incorporate LEED and sustainable design philosophy into the company's master specifications, and work with individual project teams to select materials and products that support this design philosophy. Adapt specifications to suit the regional requirements and Project nature. Work with project teams to develop documents and mentor staff on technical issues for both project and specification related issues. Review and quality control of construction documents and other technical resources. Support design and technical staff in the preparation of contract documents and stipulate, indicate and prescribe recommendations. What the successful candidate should ideally have? 15 years of experience in writing specifications for the architectural profession and the construction industry. At least 5 of those years spent in the UAE or MENA region using NES, CSI or European equivalent formats. Previous specification writing experience with a large Architectural/Engineering firm, preferably in the MENA region. Thoughtful familiarity with E-Specs and NES. Experienced in the development of Outline Specifications and Construction Documents. Good working knowledge of current contract law as it applies to construction. Very good computer skills with MS Office software suite. Detail-oriented, strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. High proficiency in English language.
