DubaiJob title: Technical Superintendent Sub section technical fleet management – section marine operations Performance areas of the section -Technical Management of marine craft compliant with all corporate, national and international regulations and standards Power of decision: the technical superintendent is responsible for the performance areas of the technical superintendent Technical superintendent reports to the head of sub section technical fleet management Performance Areas of the function Management –Ensures the efficient technical functioning of the vessels assigned to him Advises the head of sub section technical fleet management of technical issues or possible technical issues or possible technical issues or possible technical improvements to the marine department fleet Ensures that all warranty and insurance claims are fled on time and coordinates these with the head of sub section technical fleet management Maintenance and repair – Ensures that the marine craft assigned to him are kept at the desired levels of technical maintenance and equipment and that the vessels meet class standards Ensures that the planned maintenance schedule for the marine craft in his care is carried out. Ensures that all required spares for harbor craft are sourced on time to minimize downtime for planned maintenance Assists the head of sub section technical fleet management in the dock planning for the assigned marine craft Identifies issues with technical maintenance and repair on board the assigned marine craft and advises the head of sub section technical fleet management accordingly. Consultations and contacts (non exhaustive) External maintenance and repair engineers working on the assigned vessels Internal all relevant departments within the PDF organization and fleet personnel. Qualification Required – education upto a college degree level Experience as a chief/marine engineer aboard sea going vessels with at least an stcw chief engineers license Or Naval architect with experience as a shipyard repair manager Experience with planned maintenance systems Preferred experience with technical management of multiple ships
