Dubai -THE POST HOLDER WILL BE REQUIRED TO: Provide technical support to the dental services at FUH as directed by the MRP (most responsible physician). Work within a multidisciplinary team with a personalised and caring attitude. Participate in public health awareness initiatives and training programs as required. Responsibilities USING AN EVIDENCE BASED APPROACH IN KEEPING WITH GENERALLY ACCEPTED BEST PRACTICES AND STANDARDS FOR THE PROFESSION, HE/SHE PREPARES PATIENTS FOR ORAL SURGERY AND ASSISTS THE SURGEON DURING OPERATIVE PROCEDURES. THIS INCLUDES: preparing surgical trays and setting up intravenous equipment monitoring patient vital signs removing sutures, applying and removing archbars providing surgeon with required instruments and equipment Preparation of dental materials, the taking of dental x-rays PERFORMS DAILY MAINTENANCE FOR THE DENTAL UNIT, CLEANING OF FILTERS, OILING HAND PIECES AND FLUSHING SUCTION HOSES. FOLLOWS STRICTLY, FUH INFECTION CONTROL POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND PREPARES REUSABLE INSTRUMENTS FOR STERILISATION. PERFORMS DAILY CHECK OF THE EMERGENCY CRASH CART FOR READINESS BY WAY OF EQUIPMENT FUNCTION AND MEDICATION STOCK. DEFICIENCIES TO BE REPORTED IMMEDIATELY TO THE CLINICAL LEAD AND DIRECTORATE HEAD. ORGANISES AND MAINTAINS STOCKS OF MEDICATIONS, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND CONSUMABLES FOR THE SERVICE. HE/SHE SHOULD POSSESS GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN ORDER TO DIRECT PATIENTS THROUGH THE REQUIRED STEPS FOR THE PLANNED MANAGEMENT AND MINIMISE PATIENT ANXIETY. IN ADDITION, PATIENTS SHALL BE COUNSELLED ON PREVENTATIVE DENTAL CARE AND NUTRITION ENSURES CONSISTENT, ACCURATE AND DETAILED DOCUMENTATION OF PATIENT ENCOUNTERS AS PER POLICY. REVIEWS WITH THE DENTAL STAFFS, ADVERSE EVENTS, PROBLEM INCIDENTS AND COMPLAINTS, AND EXPLORES ALL OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF CARE AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS WITH REGARD TO RISK MANAGEMENT. PARTICIPATES IN A QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR DENTAL SERVICES. ASSISTS THE LEAD CLINICIAN IN DEVELOPING BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS.
