Hiring Teachers - MOE-Dubai

Dubai -AED16,000 a monthJob SummaryInterviews are expected to be held in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru again in August or September 2019.1. This is a new project with the Ministry of Education in the UAE. It is a project aimed at increasing the quality of teaching in the public owned state schools (typically Grades 8 to 12).2. The monthly salary is AED16,000. This is tax free, but you will have to pay for everything out of this total i.e. rent, transportation, life insurance. Monthly accommodation costs vary – typically between AED3,000-8,000 for a one bed apartment, less if you share. You are supported in finding your own accommodation, and the cost of this will depend on your lifestyle choices (villa vs apartment, location etc.). The remaining salary compares very well to the majority of international schools.3. You will receive free flights at the start and end of your contract which will be two years with the possibility of renewal. You will also have visa and initial medical costs paid, as well as medical insurance cover for you, your spouse (if applicable). You will need to pay for some expenses of immigration such as a police check, legalising your qualification and sitting a recent English language test.4. There is no educational allowance paid so this is probably not suitable for teachers moving with families, unless the spouse has a well-paid job with good benefits. The Ministry will cover medical insurance costs for families (spouse and up to 3 dependent children). However, your children will have to go to a fee paying private international school, unless they are home schooled.5. You may not know your final destination until immediately you arrive in UAE. This is not a large country and most places are within an hour’s drive (or less) of each other. You will most likely be placed in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Al Ain, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah or possibly Dubai -. You will be provided with up to 8 nights hotel accommodation while you secure your own apartment.6. MoE like to meet teachers face to face. Interviews are being held in UK, Ireland, India and locally in UAE for candidates who could travel to UAE. You will need to pay for your own travel expenses to attend the interview.7. It takes around 2 - 4 months to finalise paperwork from the interview date until the travel date, sometimes longer. Many teachers have already started and start dates are ongoing.
