Dubai -Role SummaryTo work directly with our Chief Legal Officer (CLO) in the gold exploration and mining industry. The role will be based in the Company’s headquarters in Dubai - and will require regular travel to the Company’s assets in Africa.ResponsibilitiesManage the operational aspects of the Company, reporting directly to the CLO;Handle a wide range of legal work, including, but not limited, licensing, management of local counsel, human resources, health and safety, insurances, and the implementation of jurisdiction specific and group internal policies and procedures;Ensure that the business meets its regulatory commitments, manage regulatory risks, and develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures;Ensure that the business and the conduct of management and employees comply with the law, policies, practices and procedures;Monitor compliance risk and ensures that the CLO is immediately aware of significant ethical and legal compliance issues that may arise;Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Company and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct;Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance;Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authorities etc.);Review and update the Company’s charters and policies to ensure continuing relevance in providing guidance to management and employees;Other duties assigned by the CLORequired QualificationBachelor of Laws degree from a reputable law school or university;Verbal and written fluency in English and French;Minimum 2+ year’s post admission experience;Ability to travel when required;Excellent analytical ability, legal drafting and negotiation skills;Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills;Proactive approach to recognizing needs, anticipating issues, and solving problems;Ability to think strategically while managing the details, and to make clear recommendations.Job Type: Full-timeExperience:post admission: 2 years (Preferred)
