Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following: Coordinate and monitor the efficiency, safety and security related programs for overall hotel, including lost and found process, auditing of issuance of hotel keys and Fire Preparedness training, Assign tasks to the Security Management & Supervisors Compile and distribute Security reports to the relevant parties. Read incoming correspondence and disseminate pertinent information to staff members. Organize and conduct departmental safety committee meetings. Attend and participate in all required meetings. Communicate day to day tasks with Security Management, Supervisors, Associates and Hotel Manager Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, the Security Manager will be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Upon employment, the Security Manager is required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the Resort’s facilities. Responsible for the Budgeting process for the Security Department Control all Expenses related to the Security Department Promote safe work practices. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and preventative measures. Develop and administer safety programs. Develop, revise, and advise key personnel of emergency procedures. Investigate accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful activities. Document details and advise management. Familiar with the Resort and aware of the areas and functions likely to require attention by security personnel Fully aware and responsible for enforcing and managing emergency procedures ie. Fire Procedures, Bomb Threats. Study the investigation reports prepared by Supervisors for all reported crimes, injuries or unusual incidents use analytic skills to establish trend and action plans to stop any re occurring misconduct Comfortable with Marriott reporting tool and insurance implication. Keep the Management informed of any noteworthy incidents or conditions. This includes Employee Relations issues or any relevant information Coaches team members on the job Monitors performance, assess staff objectively and recommends training / development options to improve skill levels. To move into this position you should have Tenure in current position minimum one year 5 years experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area, preferably working within an industry which monitored large volumes of people movement Minimum three years’ experience as a Security Manager for a luxury property. Previous experience leading and managing a Security / law enforcement team 2-year degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice or related major; 1 year experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area. Excellent inter-personal skills and personal presentation Required to speak, read and write English and Arabic Outstanding communication skills, both written & verbal. In-depth knowledge of security related systems, practices, legislation, and latest technologies Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
