Job Duties : Responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medicines for patients. Evaluates the appropriateness and effectiveness of the patient s medications. Oversees the process of packaging, labelling, measuring, compounding, storing, and recording medications used in patient care. Controls inventory and maintains stock of drugs, chemicals, and other pharmaceutical supplies. Educates patients / nursing staff about prescribed medication regimes with the aim of improving compliance. Consults with the patient’s physicians in selecting the medication therapy that best meets the patient’s needs and contributes effectively to the overall therapy goals. Coaches and mentors Pharmacy Assistants, as delegated. Develops or participates in clinical pharmaceutical research. Serves as a preceptor for pharmacy interns. Qualifications and requirements : Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institute. Master’s in Pharmacy is an advantage. Must be a Licensed Pharmacist. 3 years professional experience in a hospital/pharmacy. Strong knowledge of local and national laws regarding regulation of pharmacy practices. Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
