About the Job: An opportunity has arisen in the Kitchen department for a highly motivated and hardworking individual. The purpose of this role is to oversee thepreparation, cooking and presentation of meals in the assigned section and assist in the planning and managing of activities related to the kitchen includingmenu creation, management of kitchen staff. Your key duties will include: 1. Actively manages all aspects ofthe section and delegate tasks to the junior kitchen staff accordingly toensure a smooth operations of that kitchen section to the expected qualitystandards of the Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef. 2. Manages service during busyperiods and in the absence of senior chefs, manages the kitchen ensuring allstandards and quality procedures are adhered to. 3. Ensure compliance to allrelevant Health, Safety and Environment management procedures and controlswithin a defined area of activity so that Company provides world class andluxurious hospitality services to its guests Specific Tasks: To inform and keep the Chef De Cuisine up-to-date on challenges and irregularities and recommend courses of action.Plans staff training with the Sous Chef and maintain an active training plan/programme for each team member.Assists Chef De Cuisine / Sous Chef to set service and food standards in compliance with the international policies and standards.Assist the Chef De Cuisine / Sous Chef in the daily preparation and service of food ensuring that the highest standards are maintained at all times.Ensures that the designated section, equipment and utensils are always kept clean and tidy in adherence to the standards required by the restaurant.Supervises and check every dish sent from the section to ensure highest quality standards are maintained.Monitors the produce assigned to their section of the kitchen and report any issues to senior chef immediately.Ensures cleaning schedules are followed by stewards and signed off by Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef.As Chef De Partie and section in charge responsible for refrigeration cleaning, stock rotation, date coding and section deep cleaning.In the absence of a senior chef ensure the daily kitchen records and labelling standards are being maintained at all times.Perform related tasks and duties as assigned and deemed responsible by management. About you: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a progressively more complex andresponsible roles ideally within the luxury hospitality industry Qualifications: College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited CulinarySchool. Skills: Expertin hygiene, health and safety knowledge. Expert in product quality andpresentation skills. Expertmanagement of multi cuisine kitchens with show cooking. Expertculinary knowledge of both classical and international culinary trends. Very good command of speaking,reading, and writing English language. Strong communication andinterpersonal skills.
