Dubai -Full-time, ContractStar International School Mirdif is a bespoke British Curriculum School situated in the Mirdif Community of Dubai - offering EYFS, Primary and Secondary Education. We are looking to appoint a Deputy Head of Primary who has the enthusiasm, commitment and energy needed to work in a rapidly growing and improving school.
The Post
Due to continued expansion we are looking for a Deputy Head of Primary at Star International School Mirdif. For the right candidate this post may evolve into a Head of Primary role within 2-3 years. As a result we are looking for either an existing Deputy Head of Primary, or someone who has worked in leadership positions across Primary who is ready for the next step in their career.
The Deputy Head of Primary would assist the Vice Principal in the running of the Primary phase of the school. They would also be expected to take a proactive role in supporting the running of the Primary phase, whilst making strong links with the Head of EYFS and Head of Secondary. The role requirements are:
To play an active part in the Senior Leadership Team
Contribute to the day to day leadership and management of the Primary School
To deputise for the Vice Principal as and when required
To lead the school in teaching and learning
Lead the tracking and assessment of student attainment and progress for Primary
To demonstrate a full and professional commitment to excellence in primary education
To work with the Vice Principal in strategic priority planning
To encourage student participation in School life
To ensure the physical and mental well-being of all the students
As such, applicants with management experience and a proven record of having significant impact in your current post would be preferred.

Qualifications & Experience
Relevant teaching qualification: minimum of a BEd or BA/BSc + PGCE/QTS
Excellent working knowledge of the latest UK practice and the new National Curriculum of England
Minimum of 5 years teaching and leadership experience
Experience of the use of data to track, monitor and intervene in the progress and attainment of students
Working knowledge of the UAE inspection framework (Preferred)
2 Years senior leadership experience (Preferred)

Contracts are for two years in the first instance and include:
