IT Service Delivery Manager - GEMS Education-Dubai
Dubai -About the Role Job Purpose: The IT Service Delivery Manager is responsible for the Technology planning and execution of Services Business Entities inside GEMS Group. The Services entities are – School Transport Services (STS), Infracare, Safecor, Threads, Slices & ESM. The ITSDM also champions aligning the Services IT vision and strategic plans; policy and practice development, planning, budgeting, resourcing and training. aligning them with enterprise objectives and strategy; and directs all related development and implementation projects. Job Description: Information Technology Leadership Build and manage Services IT technology team and oversee support and operations, as well as project management. Stakeholder management of all Services unit leaders, understanding their business priorities and working with SSC IT in executing them seamlessly. Manage and create an operating model of aligning the technology requirements and updates with Group IT, ensure regular meetings with Group IT on IT Infrastructure, Application and Information Security plans. Anticipate and react to major information technology changes to ensure the maintenance of company leadership in the competitive landscape. Technology Initiatives Initiates and develops internal and external partnerships to leverage GEMS’ technology investments. Provides direct oversight and direction on group-wide technology initiatives Technology Operations: Evaluate overall operations of computing and information technology functions and recommend enhancements. Keep abreast of IT developments and emerging technologies in order to evaluate and implement appropriate, innovative and cost-effective solutions to achieve competitive excellence for all the Service Business entities. Monitors and evaluates systems to measure their success. Technology Policy and Procedures Ensure the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times. Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations. Risk Management and Backup Ensure adequate documentation and back up is established for all application systems in order to provide business continuity of IT services with minimum disruption in the event of contingencies. Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans. Accountable for ensuring appropriate security controls for technology solutions, information and data of the company. Technology Planning and Policy Development Responsible to regularly evaluate existing technology, information systems, and staffing, research new solutions and technologies and recommend changes. Gather and analyze changing requirements of users and recommend changes to software applications based on analysis of their impact to all users’ requirements. Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required. Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.
