Responsibilities BY MEANS OF A THOROUGH, COMPREHENSIVE AND HOLISTIC ASSESSMENT, RENDERS PHYSICAL THERAPIES IN BOTH INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SETTINGS, FOR MUSCULO-SKELETAL CONDITIONS FOLLOWING ORTHOPAEDIC, NEUROLOGICAL AND CARDIAC EVENTS AS PART OF A REHABILITATION PROGRAM, USING AN EVIDENCE BASED APPROACH IN KEEPING WITH GENERALLY ACCEPTED STANDARDS FOR THE PROFESSION. PATIENTS REQUIRING PROSTHETIC OR ORTHOTIC DEVICES, OR GAIT ASSISTANCE (CRUTCHES, ZIMMER FRAMES ETC) SHALL BE INSTRUCTED AND EDUCATED REGARDING THEIR USE. HE/SHE SHOULD POSSESS GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN ORDER TO DIRECT PATIENTS THROUGH THE REQUIRED PHASED PROGRAMS. HE/SHE IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE DAYTIME AND AFTER-HOURS SERVICES FOR ELECTIVE AND EMERGENCY ADMISSIONS ON A ROTATIONAL BASIS, DURING EVENINGS, NIGHTS, HOLIDAYS, WEEKENDS AND CONTRACTUAL LEAVE PERIODS. HE/SHE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING ORDER AND CLEANLINESS IN THE WORKING AREA AND MAINTAINS EQUIPMENT IN GOOD WORKING ORDERS. THERE SHOULD BE TIMELY REPORTING OF DEFICIENCIES TO THE PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGER. ENSURES CONSISTENT, ACCURATE, DETAILED AND TIMELY DOCUMENTATION OF PATIENT ENCOUNTERS. REVIEWS WITH THE PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGER, ADVERSE EVENTS, PROBLEM INCIDENTS AND COMPLAINTS, AND EXPLORES ALL OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF CARE AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS WITH REGARD TO RISK MANAGEMENT. PARTICIPATES IN A QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM FOR PHYSIOTHERAPY AND MONITORS KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS ASSISTS THE PHYSIOTHERAPY MANAGER IN DEVELOPING BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES AND PROTOCOLS.
