The role of General Manager creates a unique opportunity to lead our Model Citizens to deliver a word class guest experience while driving the business growth and working closely with the resort’s senior management team. Additionally, this is a very exciting time with the addition of the LEGOLAND Hotel in 2020 and you will be responsible for leading the team through the opening and operational settle down. Reporting to Merlin Entertainment’s Managing Director for LEGOLAND Parks, in this role you will be responsible for planning, directing and managing the strategic and operational demands of LEGOLAND Dubai - to exceed attendance, revenue, profitability and other core objectives in line with LEGO values and Merlin KPIs. It is a high visibility, high tempo and a highly sought-after role, and it doesn’t come along very often – so are you up to it? What will you do? * Basically you’ll run the business.. * Deliver budgets, strategies, propositions, new initiatives, revenue and profits and of course guest satisfaction. * Manage park & hotel yield and volume, capital expenditure, day to day activities, projects and people. * Develop new ideas, succession plans and solutions. * Plan for the unexpected. In order to be qualified for this role you should possess the below criteria: * You’ll already be an experienced senior manager with 10 years of leisure, hospitality and/or retail sector experience. And you’ll love the buzz that comes with it, experience of a 24/7/365 business would be highly beneficial. * Ideally you will have worked in the UAE or GCC previously with experience of operating within a diverse culture * You’ll have a degree qualification in a business or management – a role of this stature requires proven academic application. * Delivery of budgeted EBITDA will be a very familiar expectation – one that you live and breathe. * Your leadership skills will be truly exceptional with highly developed communication skills and the ability to lead from the front, to influence and to drive change. * Presenting, mentoring, negotiating and writing business cases will all be capabilities that come naturally – and you’ll love them all. * With revenue generation being key you’ll be great with numbers.
