Senior Safety Officer - JIANGSU JINGTIAN BUILDING CONTRACTING L.L.-Dubai
Dubai -AED3,000 - AED6,000 a monthTask Description:- Implement safety program to prevent, correct, or control unsafe environmental conditions;- Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with project staff members;- Prepare reports of findings from investigation of accidents, inspection of facilities, and or testing of project environment;- Conduct sampling, surveys and questioning to examine the effectiveness of implementation of the occupational health, safety and environment management system;- Investigate causes of accidents and/or injuries to develop solutions to minimize or prevent recurrence;- Examine plans and specifications for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety requirements have been included;- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and ensure compliance with safety regulations;- Monitor the exposure to occupational hazards (noise, humidity, etc.) to verify compliance with regulations;- Coordinate training of workers concerning safety laws and regulations, use of safety equipment, devices, clothing and first aid;- Check the company measures to ensure maximum employee protection;- Conduct safety inductions for Depa’s employee, subcontractors and visitors prior to entering site or factory;- Assist in conducting internal audits;- Assist in implementing the QHSE Department training program;RequirementsTo be considered for this position, the candidate should have at least 7 years experience in a similar capacity, and a diploma on Occupational Health and Safety, preferably having a globally recognized health and safety certification.- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety- Certification in Health and Safety (i.e. NEBOSH IGC)- Minimum 7 years experienceImportant Qualities:- Observational skills. The Senior Safety Officer must observe and learn how operations function so that they can identify risks to people and property. This requires the ability to think in terms of overall processes within an organization.- Critical-thinking skills.
