Dubai -About the Role Job Purpose The position is responsible for effectively analyzing, planning, organizing, and leading teams in support of production applications while managing risk, workload, scope, capacity, schedule, and budget for the Service entities. This position also works closely with project sponsors, business and technical partners, subject matter experts, end users, technical resources (internal and third-party vendors), senior management, and executives in the delivery and support of applications that ensure that the needs of business users are fully addressed, and continuous improvement is being achieved. Job Description Operational Responsible for the overall applications within the services division Acts as a focal point for communicating applications related requirements, problems within the Services division and collaborates with other teams and vendors on changes, fixes, and updates Assesses business needs to provide solutions and extend support for smooth business flow Negotiates resolution of conflicting requirements across the internal and external stakeholders Sets and measures performance objectives and provides regular one-on-one feedback to all members of the team Manages delivery and SLAs by guiding incident resolution, problem management, maintenance, and new changes raised by the business users for assigned applications Works closely with all other IT management personnel in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing specific information technologies that support the business plans and IT strategies Lead the active coordination between the application team and business analysts with the local IT Operations team to ensure a high-level delivery of services and solutions, including coordination of outages, maintenance windows and schedule management Ensure team adheres to internal policies and procedures and are compliant with industry and regulatory policies Assists with the preparation of budget for IT systems and services related interfaces and applications Manages the release process for applications which includes effective department wide and end user communication Addresses individual staff performance problems as needed Develops relevant metrics, measures and publishes the performance of the services provided and enables continuous improvement activities in collaboration with peer groups Maintains a strong understanding of technology and its application to achieve business objectives Maintain ongoing troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of applications as required General Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values. Contributes to the liaison and effective communication with vendors for all software technologies and requirements. Ensures the GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times. Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard corporate sensitive information. Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment. Perform other duties as requested by reporting line managers / supervisors. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Degree (BSc/ MSc) in technology related subject. 5+ years of management/leadership experience in services industry is required Experience in the identification, planning and implementation of major software solutions (including ERP) 5 to 7 years of experience in managing / leading software development teams or activities; data analytics and reporting experience preferred Strong Leadership, interpersonal, conflict resolution and critical problem solving skills required Demonstrated ability to function independently, set direction, and implement solutions that resolve business issues Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Strong analytical and negotiating skills required Excellent organization and interpersonal skills required Demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects About your Benefits We offer an excellent remuneration package including a competitive tax free salary, visa, tuition fee concession, medical insurance, annual airfare allowance, 30 days annual leave and end of service gratuity.
