UAETitle: C-UAS Field Service Representative (Engineering Tech 5) Site-specific or regional field service representative (FSR) for counter unmanned aerial systems. The FSR will support the Project Manager in sustaining the deployed site equipment in various field locations. The FSR will work as the on-site technician to maintain the equipment deployed at the site(s). The CUAS system is a combination of radio frequency (RF) hardware and common computer equipment. The hardware is installed at a variety of specific locations at several designated sites. The CUAS system needs regular inspection and maintenance as well as troubleshooting and service if there are software or hardware failures. The nature of the operational use case requires an onsite service presence to maintain system availability. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Personnel capabilities Service personnel for the CUAS system will need to execute a variety of tasking as the system has many different pieces of hardware and software installed at a variety of physically separated locations. Service personnel will need to be able to move system equipment up to 200 lbs. Equipment in excess of 75 lbs. will require a two-person lift or use of hand carts or other mechanic support equipment. Personnel must be willing to work outside in the elements and potentially long and odd shifts. Personnel should have a basic electronics background and understanding of electronics theory. Personnel will need to possess a SECRET security clearance. Personnel will need to interact and have the ability to brief higher echelon military and civilian leadership in a professional manner. Personnel will need to be willing and comfortable working at heights ~200’ Must be Climb Certified Travel: Approximately 50% travel expected Information Technology Service personnel will need to be proficient in the following areas of Information Technology software: Network Inspect and understand basic IP network topologies and use software tools to explore and troubleshoot IP network connectivity issues Reconfigure IP addresses and network topologies to configure new equipment as spares and additional equipment are added to the network Collaborate with other IT personnel to identify, isolate, and resolve network issues Linux Issue basic command line instructions in the LINUX environment to execute programs, manipulate data, move and retrieve files, reimage drives, and write to removable media. Collaborate with vendor personnel via telephone to resolve software issues using basic LINUX command line techniques Update, patch and install new revisions of vendor software Perform command line instructions to determine state of health of equipment. Windows Use Windows operating environment to perform basic communications and research tasking such as email, spreadsheet, and presentation software. MS Office Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Computer and Other Hardware PC Client and Server Troubleshoot basic problems with commercial servers and personal computers Perform software and hardware upgrades to commercial servers and personal computers Replace and bring online entire commercial servers and personnel computers as required for upgrades or if equipment is no repairable in the field. Circuit board / Module Replacement Remove and replace circuit boards and modular system components that require unplugging edge and pin connectors as well as common RF connectors. Antennas Remove and replace small antenna elements using screw type RF connectors and common hand tools. Radio Frequency (RF) Cabling Inspect and repair and/or replace common RF cabling at outdoor locations. Administrative Gather and analyze performance metrics from the CUAS system Prepare operations and maintenance reports as required Participate in regular status teleconferences Collect detailed on-site bug reports and other user inputs Meet with and engage all on-site stakeholders to facilitate open and frequent communication that will identify issues and solutions Provide basic CUAS training to newly appointed security watch stander upon check-in into command. Experience: Education: High School diploma or GED; completion of a technical school, trade school, or advanced armed services technical school; or completion of at least 30 semester hours of course studies at an accredited college or university. Experience: At least ten (10) years of experience in performing engineering technician functions in a "Relevant Technical Discipline" Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
