Role A degree qualified engineer and proven collaborator with 10-15 years of experience in complex structures Responsible for overview and quality of deliverables produced by project teams Provides leadership, general guidance and management to junior staff. Act as the Arup project manager for multiple projects, responsible for delivering projects in line with AMS systems. Prepare bids and fee estimates for single discipline bids. Coordinate and deliver bids for multi-discipline bids. Coordinate with other Arup office in preparation of bids or delivery of projects. Interfacing with the Client, Contractor and sub-consultants on projects Contributing to PD in advising and reporting to the Client related to the Arup scope of works Undertaking 3rd party reviews of complex building structures Requirements and skills The successful candidate will have: a flair for structural engineering design and a practical understanding of buildings a desire to work in a multidisciplinary team finding holistic building design solutions a strong appreciation of the multi-disciplinary nature of building design ability to work with other disciplines to develop holistic solutions a strong ability to communicate: with the team, with the client, through sketching, through drawing and in writing experience with steel, concrete, superstructure, substructure and foundation design plus other structural materials proven experience in supervising a small team producing drawings, models and calculations a proven ability to deliver on time and within budget degree qualified, ideally at Masters level Chartered Engineer status via an appropriate professional institution such as IStructE or ICE A desire to travel both locally and internationally A desire to develop new project opportunities through developing relationships with architects, developers and contractors.
