Senior Biomedical Engineer - Canadian Specialist -Dubai
Dubai -Department FMSS Qualifications Education: (FULL TIME STUDIES ONLY) Minimum: Bachelor or B.Sc Degree in Engineering or in a technical discipline such as Biomedical/ Electronics / Electrical or equivalent with comprehensive specialized training in Bio-Medical Engineering. Technical training programs attended on medical equipment that have been/are being handled by him/her with relevant certificates. Language Skills: Fluent in English - Oral and Written to read and understand technical literature and schematics. Knowledge in Arabic is desirable but not essential. Preferred: 7-10 years No of Positions 1 Closing Date 30 May 2019 Job Details Performs remedial maintenance on specified equipment as soon as possible after a fault has been reported.Responds immediately to emergency calls for assistance or advice Coordinates the preventive maintenance program, and maintains equipment in accordance with planned maintenance schedules and implement outlined safety checks on equipment to approved standard for proper functioning of the system.Commissions new Biomedical and associated equipment prior to release to the appropriate user department.Co-ordinates, implements and presents in-service education to medical and support staffs regarding the technical aspects and safe operation of Bio-medical equipment/ system.Formulates/ update technical specification/ compliance check list for new acquisitions of Biomedical Equipment.Technically evaluates clinical equipment proposed for purchase and review against end-user recommended selection and ensure equipment’s safety compliance prior to ordering.Coordinates with disciplines and provides efficient services and prompt response to malfunctions of equipment and other requests.Performs environmental safety checks at all hospital locations.Carries out custom fabrication or modification of biomedical equipment as needed, to satisfy special requirements, or to meet new regulations - Assists, as required, in specialized patient care involving biomedical engineering technology.Participates in the 24 hour emergency on-call service.Participates in the training program for Engineers, trainees, engineers and technicians.Checks work performed by Engineers, technicians and trainees.Maintains equipment records, to produce equipment histories.Participates in incident investigations and reporting, as related to clinical equipment failures, to define causes and corrective actions needed.Provides advice and technical input to proposed system installations and engineering projects.Attend planned training sessions relating to specific on new equipment introduced.Recommend, ensuring stock level spare parts are adequate including technical manuals for fast response on repair/ maintenance.Ensures correct workshop practices and safe working environment within the workshop space; including use of tools and equipment.Complies with Hospital policies and procedures; and in particular infection control, safety and quality. Consultant Paediatric Intensive Care Unit - MEDICLINIC MIDDLE EAST-Dubai
Dubai -Provide specialized Paediatric Intensive Care Services to Mediclinic City Hospital patients according to current best-evidence based standards and in accordance with Mediclinic City Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulation. Participate equitably in the on-call roster. Participate in the oversight and professional development of assigned junior medical staff and in the educational activities of the Medical Staff as a whole. Conduct Clinical Audits in line with Medical Advisory Committee requirements. Participate in review and planning activities relevant to the development of the Paediatric Service and the Hospital. Participate in activities and opportunities to promote the Paediatric Service and the Hospital to the general public and wider medical community of Dubai - and the UAE. Fulfills professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all aspects of Paediatric Intensive Care. Carries out other assigned duties within the appropriate scope of knowledge, skills and abilities of the position. Job Requirements Basic Medical Degree recognised by Dubai - Healthcare City Authority. Completion and certification of a higher professional education program in Paediatric Critical/Intensive Care recognised by Dubai - Healthcare City Authority: CCT in Paediatric Critical/Intensive Care, or American Board Certification in Paediatric Critical/Intensive Care or an equivalent in Pediatric Intensive Care recognised by Dubai - Healthcare City Authority Proven experience and competence in all aspects of Pediatric Intensive Care. Minimum of five (5) years experience, since gaining higher qualification, of which three years should be at a Consultant level. Experience in a Western hospital setting is highly preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, nurses, doctors and other hospital staff. Demonstrated commitment to continuing medical education. Publication in peer reviewed journals would be well regarded. Demonstrated ability to deliver quality patient care and commitment to quality improvement for better health outcomes Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and high level of interpersonal and organizational skills is expected of this role. Fluency in written and spoken English (Arabic language skills are well regarded)
