Dubai -Full-time, PermanentProvide strategic and operational responsibility for the development and delivery of the Middle East strategy, for protecting Lloyd's trading rights and developing brand, staff and other interests in the Middle East. What Will You Do? Under guidance of the Regional Director EMEA, for the Middle East region: Develop, propose and implement annual business plan and budget Monitor agreed business plan and budget in collaboration with Finance In collaboration with the International Regulatory Affairs function Protect and develop Lloyd's licence and trading rights Maintain open and co-operative relationships with the relevant regulatory authorities Report to IRA on regulatory developments, notifications and actions In collaboration with the Compliance and Risk Management functions, ensure compliance with Lloyd's standards and processes for operational governance and internal control In collaboration with the Business Development and Performance Management functions Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders (including managing agents, brokers, cover holders, investors, market associations, risk managers and other decision makers at (re)insureds) to enable identification of market needs, trends, challenges and opportunities Manage pro-actively the relationship with the DIFC Ensure that relevant market intelligence is collected, validated and shared with Lloyd's and managing agents to support business development plans In collaboration with the Marketing & Communications function promote the Lloyd's brand and value proposition through: Delivery of an agreed strategic communication plan for the Middle East Comms and events activities tailored to the needs of the market in the Middle East Engagement with and representation in market / industry associations and working groups In collaboration with the Operations function, identify and implement opportunities for cost effective operational improvements (including key contractors) In collaboration with the Human Resources function Provide leadership to colleagues, valuing diversity of skills, experience, cultures and ways of working to maximise creativity and innovation Attract, develop and retain the best diverse talent through a high-performance culture, best practice and inspirational leadership You'll Need Skills Analytical & problem solving Influencing & negotiating Effective networking Presentations, public speaking Stakeholder management Leadership and team management Knowledge Knowledge of the Lloyd's market including structure, governance, participants and products Knowledge of international insurance operations including underwriting, risk engineering, claims Financially aware with an understanding of business drivers Knowledge of legal, accounting and management principles Experience An experienced negotiator who can influence others effectively Commercial experience within an aligned market stakeholder Experience of managing a large P&L Experience of working across different geographical boundaries with an understanding of different cultures and ways of operating at a local and regional level Qualifications Academic Qualifications Undergraduate degree Postgraduate degree a plus Professional Qualification Completion of recognised senior leadership development course(s) Industry designation(s) a plus Closing Date: 1 November 2019 As the successful candidate, you can expect to be rewarded with a competitive salary, an enviable range of benefits. The focus is on ensuring risk mitigation for the Group and acting as the main point of contact both externally and internally. The role also includes supporting customers financing solutions. The Role Responsible for the issuance and renewal of all Group Insurance policies, as well as the standardization of Group policies. Overseeing the local insurance process, especially where Group polices are not available or a specific case arises, as well as ensuring mandatory local insurance is in place. Assessing areas of risk exposure for the Group, which may require insurance or increased cover Updating and revising policies and procedures related to Group insurance Discuss group insurance and potential risk areas with senior management. Primary point of contact for all insurers, brokers and underwriters working with the Group Conducting Insurance tenders on a regular basis to drive cost reduction and ensure appropriate cover for the Group. Review, track and follow up on all claims records on a quarterly basis, Ensuring that the full details of all claims are available. Follow up on all queries on claims and elevate any local problems to the group brokers and ensure correct handling from the insurance company. The Person Insurance qualification is desired (ACII) or degree in finance, economy or accountancy or equivalent Experience of working in a similar position (global company or insurance company) in developing markets for minimum of 7 years Experience in a variety of insurance types, as well as running RFP's and global insurance program Strong knowledge of Insurance and products Understanding of emerging markets and local requirements Understanding of risk mapping and deciding appropriate levels of cover.
