Dubai -Consultant Family Medicine/Programme Director Location UAE - Dubai - Job reference 3043 Experience A minimum of three years documented experience as a program director, associate program director, core faculty, educator or administrator in an accredited Family Medicine program Current certification with the American Board of Family Medicine, the College of Family Physicians of Canada, Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom & CCT, or Arab Board in Family Medicine or specialty qualifications that are deemed equivalent or acceptable to the Review Committee-International Current medical licensure to practice and appropriate medical staff appointment Preferred 1)Previous experience working in Graduate Medical Education 2) Education or training, such as courses, diplomas, or advanced degrees (Master’s or Fellowships) concentrating in academics Benefits Inclusive salary Family flight tickets on deployment and repatriation. 30 days leave + local holidays Medical cover for family (up to three children) Study leave - 10 days per year Contract duration 2 years (renewable) Description 220 bed military hospital in Sharjah The program director must administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating the residents in each of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-International (ACGME-I) competency areas (Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Practice-based Learning & Improvement, Interpersonal & Communication Skills, Professionalism, and System-based Practice). Must oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education in all sites that participate in the program Must dedicate no less than 50% (a minimum of 20 hrs per week) of his/her professional effort to the administrative and educational activities of the program and the remain 50% will be clinical responsibilities Must approve a local director at each participating sites who is accountable for resident education Must approve the selection of program faculty members as appropriate Must evaluate program faculty members and approve the continued participation of program faculty members based on evaluations Must monitor resident supervision at all participating sites Must prepare and submit all information requires and requested by accreditation agencies, including program information forms and annual resident updates, and ensure the information submitted is accurate and complete Must provide each resident with documented semi-annual evaluation of performance with feedback Must ensure compliance and implement all policies and procedures The program director must monitor the need for and ensure the provision of back-up support systems when patient care responsibilities are unusually difficult of prolonged 11. The program director must obtain review and approval from the Graduate Medical Education Committee and Designated Institutional Official before submitting information, documentation/forms or requests to the accreditation agencies 12.
