Dubai -Professional Support Lawyer – Construction (Dubai -) - 6 Months Fixed Term Contract Job purpose The successful candidate will focus on streamlining our internal approach to the conduct of construction matters to achieve efficiency savings. The Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) will play an important role in championing a global strategy for our global construction practice. Job requirements Responsibilities include: Creation and maintenance of precedents, templates and process maps Assessing and establishing the best practice approach to the different stages of construction matters Playing an integral role in the support of the global construction practice in conjunction with other PSLs worldwide, with a focus on global documentation and streamlining Providing input on, and support for, the configuration of new technology in support of the Construction team Monitoring of general legal developments in the MENA region which may affect the Construction team Candidate requirements Ideal candidates will have: strong academic background, including a minimum of a 2:1; at least 3-5 years' post qualification experience as a construction lawyer; gained at a reputable law firm – with a strong preference for someone with contentious construction experience; regional experience preferable; previous experience in a PSL/knowledge preferable but not essential; innovative mind set, with a focus on re-engineering working practices; keen interest in Lawtech, with prior experience of using new technology very helpful (e-due diligence, workflow tools etc.); good analytical skills, with a keen instinct towards pragmatic solutions; excellent communication skills and an ability to build relationships with internal fee-earners and external suppliers and clients; an ability to work in a team with a proven ability to lead a project to successful completion; and flexible working arrangements are available Description of the work group Over the last 10 years we have created an exceptionally strong global projects & construction group, both through organic growth and through attracting leading lawyers in the sector.
