English as a Second Language (ESL) Coach - -Dubai
Dubai -Business Unit: SCHOOL SUPPORT CENTRE About the Role: We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and experienced ESL practitioner to act as a coach for teachers and other staff in our Indian curriculum schools. As ESL Coach, you will play an instrumental role in the development of English proficiency in staff and of ESL pedagogy. The accountabilities for the role include: Developing teachers whose command of English is sufficient to help ELL students make good or better progress Developing teachers and front-of-house staff whose command of English is sufficient to present a professional image to families who may otherwise choose a competitor school Developing and delivering in-house English proficiency training to large staff groups Developing and delivering small group and one-to-one English tuition to staff Developing ESL resources for use by teachers Providing professional development intervention (training, coaching, mentoring) in the form of workshops, lesson modelling and/or lesson observations, focus groups, one-to-one meetings to enhance ESL strategies Providing constructive feedback on key documents including: lesson plans, scope of work, resources and so on Developing and delivering train-the-trainer activities Developing and delivering training on the creation of effective ESL teaching resources Collaborating with school leadership to identify the areas of strengths and areas for development in the school Supporting the school leadership to construct an English Language Improvement Plan to deliver the desired improvements and to track and monitor achievement across the school As ESL Coach you will: Be a highly successful and proven ESL practitioner, with a track record of educational excellence and tangible outcomes Have experience of delivering ESL to both adults and children / young people Have experience of developing and leading training for fellow practitioners Have excellent interpersonal skills that will enable you to motivate and inspire your colleagues and develop productive relationships at all levels Be a passionate educator and have a recent working knowledge of ESL practice at the highest level, keeping up to date professionally and educationally. Have the ability to work flexibly across a range of settings Some international experience or exposure would be helpful but is not essential. An openness to quickly understand and embrace the culture and opportunities that working in a diverse international company and in Indian curriculum schools brings, is essential.
