About the role The Head of Administration works to develop and improve processes and policies, manage administration contracts, administrative staff, 3rd party providers, and supports short, medium- and long-term facility, resource, operational and organizational planning. Specific responsibilities include:Management: manages daily school operations, develops, oversees and communicates standard operating procedures and processes that streamline and provide simple guiding principles relevant to efficient school operation.Development: works collaboratively with school SLT and staff, Facilities Management and IT Management to manage school and school facilities development plans and projects.Develops and implements school staff accommodation strategy and budget, manages and staff accommodation leasing, collaborates with Facilities Management to oversee staff accommodation development projects, manages landlord relationships. Relationships: Works to resolve issues and develops supportive relationships with teachers, particularly in relation to staff housing allowance and accommodation Commitment: Supports teachers and all colleagues, and 3rd party providers with weekend and 'out of hours'; issues, incidents and concerns. Responds quickly and professionally and engages wider SLT support where necessaryLeadership: Problem solving resource, facility and operational issues and takes responsibility for quick and responsive decision making and authorizing purchase orders within budget and expenses within authorization limits with an informed and thorough approach. School team: supports colleagues on the School Leadership Team, particularly with their department's organization, resource planning and development. Supplier relationship: Oversees and negotiates contracts and supplier relationship management, develops and implements contract management systems, generates revenues streams where possible from school facility hire and ensures compliance with local governing bodies, NAS policy and relevant business insurance.Financial planning: Reviewing, monitoring and controlling budgets, providing relevant budget control information and support to budget holders, support in the preparation of budgets and financial reports.Networking with industry peers, competitors and prospective clients. Health and Safety: Work with the School Health and Safety Officer to oversee the health and safety management of the school and response to incidents. Ensure that all extracurricular activities comply with Risk assessment guidelines, school health and safety policies and operate within the limits of our school insurance. Manages key contracts: Manage School Transport Services and Catering contracts, ensures control and compliance and monitors performance, deals effectively with issues and complaints.Group and Regional: works collaboratively with regional colleagues and seeks engagement and support from Group wide and Regional colleagues on specific matters where required.Event Management: contributes to the wider school team event management in a timely, coordinated and responsive way, coordinating travel requirements where required and possible.Contributes to short, medium and long-term organizational planning: Coordinates the implementation and operation of NAS's strategic plan from a facility and resource perspective.Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and managing employees performance; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.Works with Principal to update and implement NAS's development strategy and ongoing plan to achieve this. Takes on other responsibilities, as agreed with the Principal. About you Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will bring a degree in business or international business or related field, and fifteen years of successful experience in large or complex organizations & strategic program development. Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with all stakeholders. Selection Process The closing date for application is 23rd February 2020. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews that will take place at the Nord Anglia International School, in the week commencing 1st March 2020. This is a full time position, starting from 12th April 2020. Remuneration will be competitive.
